Aromatherapy

The essential oils used in aromatherapy are the life force of plants from which they have been extracted. To reduce the potency of these oils, you can dilute them by mixing them with carrier oils. These oils affect your mood. They enter through our olfactory system and affect the nervous system, thus improving mood and relaxing or energizing us. These "plant oil hormones" when diluted in a massage base/carrier oil (i.e. virgin coconut oil, sweet almond oil, sesame oil, avocado oil, macademia oil, just to name a few) can be massaged on your body, inhaled, added to your bath or sprayed in the air. When you take "Aromatherapy Massage" with these oils, they are absorbed into the bloodstream via the skin.

Aromatherapy Training-Workshop

Course info:
This training-workshop program provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the history and uses of essential oils including basic methods of administration and therapeutic actions of each of the oils. Participants will learn the history and development of aromatherapy as well as identify and safely use 15 essential oils from Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) to German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita).

Upon completion, participants will be able to create oil blends and choose from a wide range of carrier (base) oils. Participants also begin to learn how to assess the quality of essential oils and understand the primary production methods. Quality assessment and therapeutic uses are studied further in the advanced aromatherapy courses.
